Great

I have been using Duolingo for quite a few years now and get on with it fine. It has come a long way over the years. A little pricey for subscription, however makes up for the content you get for free.

Although the site was free . .

Although the site was free, it was riddled with errors, both in content and in technical aspects. Would not pay to use their services if our experience was any indication of what to expect.

One of my favorite apps

One of the best language learning apps is free. Amazing. It teaches you by having you answering questions and inferring the content. Quite brilliant. I try and do a lesson nightly before bed when I can. One minor complain though: I think having fictional languages like Klingon is fun but there's so many other real languages you don't have. Why not Georgian for example, one of the worlds first writing systems. Or many other languages.

Too much typing

Too much typing, not enough listening and speaking. Typing is not the way most people use language.

Duolingo! The best language learning application!

Excellent language-learning application!

It works extremely well with IOS and Android. The lessons are short and very effective! It's a pleasure to use it on a daily basis. I couldn't recommend it more!

Their test is ridiculous

Their test is ridiculous. The only benefit of taking it is because it is the cheapest alternative to getting a certification that is accepted by universities. They admitted to me using machine AI to progress your test and evaluate you, so yeah, that's about how much the results are worth... Besides, they tend to underrate your level, so, beware.
No wonder their overall rating is 2.4 here, as of my writing of this review.

Duolingo used to be fun

Duolingo used to be fun. But after they made changes to it. It's awful. Now they give you five stars to try a new lesson. If you make five mistakes on a NEW lesson ( any mistakes ) they boot you off the lesson. It's now become pressure to finish a lesson. No fun anymore.

It's free. Other platforms offer you free services until a specific level. Duolingo doesn't do that. You can remain as a free user all the time.

Duolingo is free to use and offers an extensive amount of vocabulary to new learners. As well as this, it offers many languages that other sites do not.
